The Garden of the Gods by Gerald Durrell

funny lighthearted relaxing fast-paced

4.0

A satisfying end to the Corfu Trilogy. The final book is a shorter, quicker read than the first two but there are still some delightful stories in it. Highlights include the visit from their friend from India who practices the rare, invented religion of "Fakyo," and the king's visit to the island where the boy scouts blow up a bridge. "My Family and Other Animals" is still the best of the three, but the whole trilogy is worth reading. I also appreciate that the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust is still active and promoting the preservation of animals that the author so obviously loved from childhood.
