Thirty Years a Slave From Bondage to Freedom: The Institution of Slavery as Seen on the Plantation and in the Home of the Planter: Autobiography of Louis Hughes by Louis Hughes
5.0
This is by far the most surprising "First read of the year" I have ever picked. It was a factual, straightforward, depressing, book that follows the true narration of Louis Hughes and his life from slavery to freedom.
It was a super educational and saddening book that skipped the fluff and went right for the hard truth of things.
