This is an amazing, powerful and important story that everyone should read!!! I loved the characters and felt very involved in the events of the story. It felt very real, and I was pulled into a storyline that I’ve neither read before nor experienced myself. One of my favourite things in a book! The main reason I rated this slightly lower than expected is that it seemed to drag a bit for me. Yes it’s a quick read but there were many things I thought could have been described differently which would have made the book much shorter. I think this is just because it’s a debut novel - but an amazing debut at that!
