Another hitter!

"Big Swiss" by Jen Beagin is a refreshing and deeply engaging novel that explores the intricacies of human relationships while also being immensely funny. Set against the backdrop of an ancient Dutch farmhouse in Hudson, New York (need to move there asap), the novel introduces us to Greta, a transcriptionist working for the cringiest sex coach ever named Om. After transcribing a particularly interesting therapy session, Gerta's fascination with Om's client, the enigmatic Big Swiss, builds and builds until there is no going back.

Beagin's writing is sharp and observant, the prose moves quickly and there wasn't much lag time or paragraphs that felt unnecessary. I didn't think it was "weird" as other reviewers said, but I like and read a lot of weird shit so maybe my "weird" radar is off.

4/5 stars!
