The Ship of Brides by Jojo Moyes

3.0

I really enjoyed this book and its descriptions of life onboard a ship.

The brides were brought to life for me, but a few parts weren’t so enjoyable.

Poor Maudie, being dragged onto a boat in her last years. I felt that it was an awful side to the story, trying to imagine how to keep her healthy and quiet for all that time.

I would like to have known what happened to each of the main four girls, given we spent so much time getting to know them. And I would also like to know more about how Frances put her past behind her. Was her history ever disclosed after she left the ship?

For the most part I really appreciated the stories that were told.
