✨ARC REVIEW✨

thank you to the author for providing an e-arc in exchange for an honest review ❤️❤️❤️

This was such a sweet and cute book. I honestly wish the book was longer, so I could see them more. I loved the representation. From their race, to their story, to the things they went through. This book does have themes of sexual assault, which I thought was done so well. I appreciated Journey’s “journey” in finding a space where she can combat her negative feelings that stemmed from her experience. I also like Roman’s “journey” in creating a space where his father isn’t needed and breaking away from toxic relationships. I loved the family dynamics. It was so cute seeing Journey’s family be reunited and how close she was with them.

I do think it needs a bit more editing. There were some typos and confusing sentences, but I assume it’ll be changed before publication. I wish cheating wasn’t such a big aspect of the story. I wasn’t really sure why Roman was even dating Chloe in the first place besides some common ground about their families. It was clear that Roman didn’t like Chloe, so I wished that he broke up with her before acting on his feelings for Journey.

Other than that, this was a wonderful story and I can’t wait to see how the author progresses in her next books. ❤️❤️
