I’m not sure what to rate this one 3.5, maybe. Honestly, I think the audio ruined the first part of the book for me. I’d definitely suggest skipping audio for this book. Her version of Ren reminded me of Lego Batman’s voice with zero personality/ not flirty in the slightest, yet he’s described as being a flirt. Thankfully I had the book also so I just quit the audio and continued reading and it went up from there.
Some of the lines characters said were too cheesy for my taste (it actually reminded me of rhapsodic in that) and I did see the twists coming BUT I thought toward the end it started getting better, more action, better relationship development between characters, etc. so that brought it up to nearly 4 stars for me. And I’m looking forward to the other two books and hope they keep getting better from here!
