The heroine is a failed commercial actress with a group of SoCal/Hollywood friends who help her solve a crime to get the tip money to save her parents house and get her out of debt. It's drawn out, there's a lot of elements and potential suspects, but I was invested to find out who dun it. I enjoyed it enough to already have book 2 queued up.
