This was... a breath of fresh air. It felt familiar and predictable, yet unique and riveting. Like I was on solid ground because I knew what would happen, but was also on a carnival ride because I didn't know how it would happen. It's one of those books that is hard to explain because there's not a lot else like it.
In a similar vein, I love that this is a series but can stand on its own. I get the satisfaction of a complete narrative with the opportunity of revisiting the world and characters some time in the future. I'm looking forward to that.

Moderate: Death, Panic attacks/disorders, Suicidal thoughts, Suicide, Grief, and Injury/Injury detail
Suicide does not occur, but an earlier one is discussed.
