Honestly, I thought this was going to be a solid 3 stars, but that ending was so bad that only 2 stars seem a fit rating.

The writing started off horrendously and from the start I could tell it would be a frustrating book to get through. And of course, I was right. This whole book seemed like it belonged on wattpad—but I’m sure that even wattpad authors can do a better job than Ms Elena Armas did with this one.

I’m afraid that the author… sucks at writing. It’s like every single thing she wrote, she wrote with the intension of wanting it to be a memorable quote which really, really did not work out for her. Nothing Aaron said to Lina made me swoon or fangirl—but rather just brought on continuous, unrelenting second hand embarrassment. It was awful having to endure. I cringed more than anything. The fake dating was done so horribly, the tension was such a letdown, and don’t even get me started on build up. Because there was none. Everything just suddenly went from 0-100 and they were suddenly touchy and in love after hating each other for 0.2 seconds.

NOT to mention this book was just wayy too draggy for my liking. Almost 500 pages and I can count the events that took place on one hand. And still have fingers to spare. Too many tropes were thrown together in hopes of something incredible, but instead something disastrous was the outcome. This book was so incredibly disastrous.

I found it SO weird how persistent Aaron was with being Lina’s date to the wedding… and that he needed her for some dumb bachelors auction?? this book was just too much random plots thrown together.

I hated Catalina as a character. I hated how stubborn she was. Everything she did was a test of my patience. It was just way overdone in her case, like girl let up!! You’re being so stupid. How are you so immature as well… not saving the number of someone you work with every single day because of some petty grudge? Make it make sense. And Aaron. You do not need to use baby in every single sentence, okay? It lost its appeal after the first 2 times.

And them together. Flat characters in their flat relationship. I hated it. Biggest waste of my time and money.

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT READ THIS BOOK:
- wannabe mariana zapata slow burn
- main character thinks solving her first math equation was a life altering moment
- wannabe aaron warner (sorry there’s only room for one aaron here and it’s not blackford)
- cringey love confessions and NOT the good kind
- over usage of pet name "baby"
- personality where…
- fake enemies to lovers (for like 10 pgs)
- one bed trope done horribly (not up to standard)
- "grab onto the headboard" v underwhelming and lame
- will cause severe second hand embarrassment !!

anyway i just did not like this book
