Sea Stories: My Life in Special Operations by William H. McRaven

5.0

McRaven is an incredible SEAL who through his speeches and books inspires people to do their best, and has a way with words to instill unity among people.

Of all the military people, Nathaniel Fick, Jocko, Goggins, and Mattis. McRaven is one of the most effective military communicators. His ability to convey the dilemmas and lessons in an inspiring way to civilians without watering it down too much is unrivaled.

Although he talks a bit a bout his own experience and such, this book is definitely not like Generation kill, it is not a raw account of what it is like in the SEAL teams, leadership in special op, etc.

The author of Never split the difference shows up in this book, not by name though. That was an interesting crossover I didn't expect. lol.

I'd recommend Generation Kill/One bullet Away for raw accounts of war and then Mattis' book.
