I really really liked this one! I loved the kids and I loved the cakes lol. I really liked how driven Eugenia was and I would have liked a little more seeing her work than basically one quick scene before Ward steals her away.

I liked the pond scenes and that Ward was respectful of her fears, and when she worried more about keeping Otis safe than herself oh my heart was so full of pride and love and then Ward had to become grumpy boots ect.

This book wasn’t perfect, I got annoyed at times and it happened more towards the end which isn’t that new for me it happens often. I just find a lot of books go for the break up and then the person who ended it has this aha moment (he literally stumbled in shock when he had his) and then things get a little cheesy and not quite believable. I’m glad she told him to go away when she saw him again, but I do think the House of Lords proclamation and reunion was a little daytime tv and quick to move on.

I DID however love the cake scene and his attempt. That was super adorable. I would have preferred him to trick her into going there and proposing there rather than how he did and them hashing it all out at that point and then hashing it out again at the house. But maybe that’s just me.

Will there be another in this series? I hope so...
