Sofi and the Bone Song by Adrienne Tooley

adventurous inspiring medium-paced

5.0

One of the rare books that had me checking the page numbers hoping that it wasn't over yet.

I enjoyed reading about the ever-evolving idea of what it means to create art through the eyes of the protagonist. I found it quite thought provoking, especially relevant during these times of writer's strikes, book censorship and AI art.

As someone who has previously struggled with gifted kid burnout, parts of Sofi's journey made me feel incredibly seen. And yet, the book still makes room to gently reassure that things can and will improve. Yeah this did good things for my heart.
