A Summer to Die by Lois Lowry

3.0

I was expecting to cry quite a lot - after all, this is a book about a sister who dies over the summer - but Molly's life was over before I even knew it, and she seemed largely absent in the book. Lowry focuses more on Meg's (the younger sister and protagonist) growth and friendship with a pregnant young couple and an old widower in the neighbourhood.

The illustrations are lovely.
