Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

4.0

I can’t imagine where to begin with a true review of the Harry Potter books, so instead I’ll list my favourite parts that never made it into the film:

- Mr weasley and Lucius Malfoy getting in a real fist fight in flourish and blots
- Fred and George de-gnoming the garden
- Ron and Harry arriving late, then McGonagall providing them a feast of sandwiches to eat in snape’s office
- Lockhart believing Harry stole the car for a second taste of fame after meeting him
- Colin Creevey asking for a signed photo of Harry and ending up with one of Lockhart
- Lockhart forcing his students to take a quiz about him and Hermione getting full marks
- Fred and George feeding a filibuster firework to a salamander
- Nearly Headless Nick’s Deathday party
- Harry splashing swelling solution on Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle in order to steal ingredients from Snape’s office
- Wafting a petrified nearly headless Nick up the stairs with a fan
- Harry’s singing Valentine’s Day dwarf
- Young Dumbledore being revealed as ginger
- when considering their options for year 3, Hermione signed up for every class. This sets up a huge plot point in book 3 that was never clear in the films
- Ginny spying on Percy and his ravenclaw girlfriend kissing
