The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
5.0
This book was incredible! I’ve seen the films a million times so thought it was time to read the book.
I also just want to mention the cover is amazing, the illustrations are out of this world!
For those who don’t know the story:
A prequel to the Lord of the Rings, it follows Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who goes on an extraordinary adventure. Gandalf the wizard and a band of dwarves whisks Bilbo on a quest to raid the treasure of Smaug the Magnificent, the large dragon of the Lonely Mountain. Bilbo experiences much more than he expected and lives up to his job as a burglar!
I loved the illustrations so much, they’re so accurate to how I pictured each scene and really add to the story.
The adventure is exciting and I love following the story of Bilbo and his bravery in helping the dwarves reclaim their homeland.
This is such an incredible fantasy series, one of the great original stories! I can’t wait to read the Lord of the Rings trilogy now!
