Tongues of Serpents by Naomi Novik

5.0

Another fabulous addition to this series. It moved a little slowly, in comparison to the others, but the lessons that Laurence and Temeraire are learning nowadays are no longer the big emotional leaps they made in earlier days, and are subtler and more philosophical. In the spirit of the Patrick O'Brian books, of which this series is a literary descendant, not every book has the same amount of action as every other. And clearly there are some set-ups for things that will happen later in the series. I hear there will only be 2-3 more books? If so, I am greatly looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up!
