4.0
A strong sequel that doesn't suffer from middle book syndrome like so many other second books in a trilogy.
The story is off to a slow start and feels a little less exciting because we find ourselves back in a Hunger Games arena but the novelty of the concept has worn off a bit.
However the competitors are far more interesting and the growing tensions and revolutionary energy in the districts are compelling as well.

Graphic: Confinement, Violence, Police brutality, and Murder
Moderate: Alcoholism and Classism
Minor: Drug abuse and Eating disorder
