It was a solid opening novel to Jordan's series and I enjoyed reading it. The story, however was a bit too close to TLOTR for me, so idk. I liked the main characters and especially the part where they were separated was great (Perrin best boi). The ending felt a bit short and anticlimactic.
It was kind of apparent that Jordan wanted to turn this into a major series, since there were a lot of worldbuilding things that were there and were only talked about briefly once or twice. You could see that he thought of the rules of this world before writing this book and that is pretty cool.
