I have never read a Japanese fantasy novel before I read this one, and I absolutely loved it! Reading Kilo’s story made me feel so much emotion. The way Noelle portrayed, his sadness and regrets for killing another person was well written.   

Kilo’s loyalty to his creed was very moving, but I also believe he was too hard on himself and it eventually caused him more pain and suffering as events unfolded. This prequel to The Shadow’s Creed Saga was great and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
