Not what I was expecting, but very interesting insight into Zweig's experience of the era he grew up in. It feels like a dramatic retelling but you can tell there's a nugget of truth. Found it hilarious that he ripped into his name-dropping acquaintance when he had spent the whole previous extract doing just that.
