The Tired Sounds, A Wake by Michael Wehunt
5.0
Michael Wehunt is officially on my radar. This book was stunning - like the cover! Can we just take a minute to appreciate this amazing cover and all those beautiful colors just swimming together?!
The story focuses on a married couple who seem to be in a little rut. Both husband and wife are creative and artistic in their careers and that forces a little isolation and less togetherness. They are not doing the best job at repairing their marriage - there's definitely a lack of communication. And now we see the entrance of The Mimes. Trust me, that's all you want me to say at this point!
This story which alternates from the wife and husband's points of view is a creeping horror that you do not want to miss. There's jealousy, resentment, and dread. And again, MIMES.
I am so lucky to have one of these limited and numbered copies of The Tired Sounds, A Wake. I am looking forward to more from Wehunt as his writing is brilliant. 5 stars!
