Jock Romeo by Sara Ney

Jock Romeo is the oh-so-hilarious and very sweet addition to the Jock Hard series. The hero, Roman, is awkward and adorable. Social interactions aren't really something he does a lot, preferring the quiet solitude of studying alone in his room. However, that all changes when he gets a second chance at a meet cute with the ambivert cheerleading heroine, Lilly.
What I loved about this book is how Roman and Lilly were both so different personality-wise but had a few similarities that really made the two of them perfect for each other. This made it easier for the lines of communication to be open between Roman and Lilly whenever drama arose, and subsequently, their character growth was more evident.
In addition to the development of Rome and Lilly's relationship, we also got to revisit one of my favourite couples (from Jock Reign, book 5). Jack and Eliza are still as fantastic as ever so I'm really glad we got to see more of their relationship from an outside perspective.
Infused within this fun story is Ney's signature humour. Sassy quips, sarcasm, and wild behaviour are to expected in every Ney book and once again, she doesn't disappoint! I laughed out loud many times and often had to remake my cup of tea because I was so distracted by the story that my tea went cold before I remembered it.
Overall, Jock Romeo is another fun, lighthearted new adult rom-com with a very light focus on sports (heroine is a cheerleader and MCs originally meet on Jock Row). I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who wants a funny, easy going college-based romance.
