The Wishing Well is a YA fantasy novella in a historical setting (17th century). It has a magical well, spirits/nymphs and other mentioned creatures, Ukrainian traditions and folklore, friends to lovers, family dynamics including meddling family members, fun bets among maidens, playfulness and plenty of angst! For a novella, despite it being a quick read, the pace doesn't feel too fast. It feels realistic and I enjoyed reading the novella so much!
I can genuinely say I just want more. I feel so attached to the characters and this time period, the culture and traditions that I just want to learn more about it. I also think it's really impressive to make a reader feel this attached and connected to what's happening, the society/time period/world and the characters - even more so because it's a novella.
Definitely recommend this one! 📖✨
