The Hearts We Sold by Emily Lloyd-Jones

5.0

“A life is not diminished by the fact that it wasn’t romantic or short-lived.”

This was amazing. I loved Dee. She was amazing and relatable and one of the best main characters ever. I loved the character development of James; at first I thought he was a little pretentious but I loved how he grew as a person. I loved the female friendships between Dee, Gremma and Riley! Finally an actual female friendship! It’s been very lackluster in the books I’ve read and I’m so glad this book had it. I loved the writing and the setting. Portland was an amazing choice to have has the setting for this story. I absolutely loved everything about this story. It made me cry, it made me feel things a book has not made me feel in a long time. 5/5 ⭐️
