A Friend Like Henry by Nuala Gardner

2.0

I felt I was reading an essay I’d (badly) written in high school, reading this. The writing style lacked finesse and annoyed me from page 1. I also felt it was a bit of a ‘look at me, how exceptional I am’ for the mother who wrote the book. Mothers of children with disabilities all are exceptional, but this writer consistently writes how this or that wouldntve have happened if not for her. I’m sorry to be so negative, but the only reason I gave this more than 1 star was because it did reveal in depth just how hard it can be caring for high spectrum autism.
