Nostalgia Has Ruined My Life by Zarah Butcher-McGunnigle

5.0

This very slim volume published by Giramondo here in Australia is a kind of novella in fragments by this young NZ author. The style is highly ironic and almost aphoristic, exploring the point of view of a 20-something woman navigating her way through unemployment or precarious employment and precarious sexual encounters. I'm not sure if it would resonate with everyone, but despite my advanced age I found this utterly hilarious. So enjoyable.
