I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

dark emotional reflective tense fast-paced

4.75

One of the first books I got through in one sitting. Really quick paced and unsettling; it kind of leaves you numb. McCurdy's memoir does not just cover her time at Nickelodeon, but the events leading up to it as well, which I think was done beautifully since her experiences go well beyond the time she was in iCarly and Sam & Cat.

It's not easy recalling and rewriting these things, and I really don't understand why tabloids are only seeing this as moment to "spill the tea". I wish Jennette a life full of happiness and love, and that she's successful in whatever she does in the future!

And, let's be honest. We're all glad her mom died.
