Missing Witches: Recovering True Histories of Feminist Magic by Risa Dickens, Amy Torok

informative inspiring medium-paced

5.0

Book Summary
A book about the wheel of the year and the different rituals associated with different times of the year. Famous witches who have been lost to history are incorporated into the pages as well.

Book Review
The witches covered are similar to the ones from the start of the podcast. Which is cool to come at it from both angles. I can see why I’d want to get a copy of this to reference long term.

How I Discovered It
I’ve known about the podcast, but finally started listening to it because of Moonbeaming. They were guests on the show.

Who Should Read It
Anyone interested in feminism and witchcraft.

Thoughts & Impressions
I really enjoyed the way it’s laid out and organized. I also love the stories told. I also like their approach to being respectful of everyone.

What I Liked About It
All the stories were delightful. I love learning about powerful women in history.

What I Didn’t Like About It
I think this is just personal to my experience, I would have preferred if it started on Samhain because that’s the first holiday I was going to experience while reading it.

How the Book Changed Me
I have a deeper understanding of the holidays and the traditions associated with them. It makes me want to put in more of an effort to celebrate the holidays, even if it’s just for myself.
