Many parts of this book felt verbose and felt like I was trudging along, but the middle-end was gripping. I think the 2nd read will be even better as I’ll have more and more context to analyze the characters.
I also found the narrating character extremely compelling. I see some other people disliking her because she is passive and people-pleasing, but I find her extremely believable for a young, sheltered woman married to a much older man. I found her compelling and likeable.
