The repeating phrases and commentary of the main character- while it showed her mental state as being unstable- it made it very hard to read. It felt like the main character truly had only surface level thoughts- never going any deeper. While it affirms her ailment and trauma to the reader- I found it frustrating and not enjoyable. This book has such a depressing tone- it was not funny like it was marketed to be- my sense of humor is not dark, so that label didn’t work for me. I finished the book to see if it improved but I felt disappointed in the end.
