Let Sleeping Dukes Lie by Emily Windsor

5.0

It's an amazing historical fictions, packed with mystery, thrill, romance, and lots of amusing banter between the "hellcat" and the "hellhound." In short, this book is perfect! Since the day I read book one in Rules of the Rogue series I've been waiting for Duke of Rakecombe and Miss Aideen Quinlan's story. They are both my favorite characters in this series and I know that their story would be great. They've chemistry, matching personalities, and so much to talk about. Apart from these exceptional characters, I enjoyed the story as well. It's good, very well-written novel. I think it is a must read for Regency fans. Both books in this series can be read as standalone.

Alexander's job is dangerous, being a spy is nothing to joke about and he knows that. This is the reason why he decided never to marry or have a family because he can never insure their safety. He is always scared that something bad will happen to people close to him, thus he doesn't let anyone get close enough to get hurt.... Until Aideen.... She refuses to be deterred by his snarly personality. In fact it seems that she quite enjoys riling the Duke of Rakecombe. Not that Alex minds it much because contrary to what he wants other to think the truth is that he too enjoys Aideen's hellish behavior. They are both a match made in hell. What starts as little teasing soon turns into something much more. Will they be able to work through their differences and live a happy life together or are they doomed to drive each other insane, literally? Well, we are about to find out... ;)

I think unlikely couples are the best kind. They made this story so much more fun to read. I enjoyed every single encounter between Alex and Aideen. They get on each other's nerves, but their love is also quite evident. I'm glad that I got the chance to read it as I enjoyed it thoroughly.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
