WitchHunt by Emma Mills
4.0
I'm 24% done with WitchHunt: " 'More a recognition of the fact that you've finally put out!' " (Eva) "Its not funny Eva... She made me wait so long I thought it was going to drop off,' Daniel said grinning " REALLY? REALLY REALLY REALLY so so so so inappropriate. Like that is not OK, implying pressure is not okay and promoting it in a book. Weird
So overall I did like this book, I thought that the male characters interacting with the female characters could do with some work. I just think the above part and others I haven't written down, didn't add anything to the book. And it actually spoils it a lot for me. Before anti feminists start accusing me. I don't feel that what the passage said above is OK. Considering I have been in that situation myself maybe it hits home more. However if it was a girl doing this to a guy most people would be like wow hes weird he didn't want to have sex with her, guys always want sex. Whereas no one has battered an eyelash with a guy doing that to a girl. That shows me we either see that a lot in books (its a possibility) and therefore are accepting of this behavior or Sex is just so important to some people it has to be in the book a lot otherwise it doesn't count. I'd be just as horrified if this was the other way round.
It has actually put me off reading more of her books because this is a theme I found a lot in these books. Whether the author was going for a 'we can't keep our hands off each other' a lot like another vampire book... OR she was going for shock. OR she doesn't see that passage as being stupid. I did mention this in a previous review (book 3) and talked a little about Daniel's personality but it was a little bit worse here. Maybe it signify Daniels arrogance as a vampire. I don't know I'm going to stop going on about this now. breathee
Other than that, if you look past how some of the interaction is, the book is pretty good. Its funny the interactions between Eva and well anyone. She lightens up the book a heck of a lot especially in this book and its pretty easy to read through this book within a few hours.
I wish Jess wasn't so wimpy. She just moans constantly. poor Daniel this poor me poor Daniel. Boring.
Alex, what happened there? Its as if Emma was like 'hmm I need a sub villain to act out evil things for Mary' and then nothing happened. There wasn't a need, it was clearly a loose end tier. Not anything to do with the story as such.
