i have mixed opinions on this book. i feel like it could've easily been shorter and there were many filler scenes, but nonetheless it was really easy and quick to go through. the ending was amazing and it makes you crave for the next book. i honestly preferred the action scenes to the romance ones (which is actually really strange for me). i feel like some of the spicy moments could've been cut out. now, speaking about the characters:
• rogue was whiny in the first book and the prequel as well, but i decided to overlook it because she went through a lot of shit. however after three books i can't stand that anymore. everytime someone says or does something she doesn't like, her first reaction is to say "i know i'm disposable, everyone always leaves me". girl, these boys are head over heels for you. shut the fuck up.
• chase: i feel like chase's character is one of the best in this series. he's been through a lot. he hates rogue and, although we know that deep down he loves her, he also makes decisions to protect his brothers. even if it means getting rid of her. and i love him for that
• maverick is another of my favorites (i guess you can see that i love morally grey characters). he keeps getting better and better
• jj i didn't really care for in the prequel, but in the first book he had an exponential change and he quickly became one of my favorite characters. he gives off such and amazing golden retriever personality (kind of like jeremiah fisher in the summer i turned pretty) but add a dark side to that as well
• fox is the one i loved the most in devil's pass, but i feel that, as the books go on, i'm appreciating him less and less. he is too obsessed and overprotective. all he cares about is her and making her "his girl". he is her pesonal dog and she had him wrapped him around her finger. i don't like that. i feel like i miss the tension and the "not showing her i love her but deep down i do"
• luther. i know. i'm about to say some things you may not like...but i actually kind of like him. he confessed rogue what happened to him and what made him hate women...and i get him. i was so angry at him for what happened at the end of devil's pass, but i get him now. he's just trying to save his son, even if it means his son has to hate him
• rosie and shawn are SO ANNOYING. shawn is just a scumbag, but he is also interesting because he is the enemy. rosie just keeps pissing me off. LEAVE CHASE ALONE PLEASE. don't you understand that he doesn't love you? don't you have a bit of self love and self respect? LET HIM BE.
with this being said, i'm starting the next book right now because i MUST know what chase and shawn are up to
