Masters of Mankind: Essays and Lectures, 1969-2013 by Noam Chomsky

Like all good theory, you take what you understand out of it, and you keep moving forward. I know I’ll come back to this collection with more insights, historical background, and personal theories. For now, it was well-written, challenging, and a massive bummer. You just don’t appreciate how much of modern society is built on bloodshed and inequality until someone drags your head against every square foot of it. It’s all so despicable, and if I hadn’t read this book along with all of these other hopeful books, I may not be so light on this review. I’m eager to read more of Chomsky beyond his linguistic-based works, and I’m especially ready to try some of the harder theory-based works in the new year. For now, I’ve had enough for this course.
