Behemoth by Scott Westerfeld

5.0

4.5 stars

An imaginative, steampunk world, inspired by the events of world wars past, Behemoth was attention holding, fast paced, and filled with suspense, action, and intrigue. I enjoyed the fascinating artwork accompanied with the story. The story read quickly. The two main characters, Deryn/Dylan and Alek, kept landing themselves into trouble. The seeds of budding romance that was planted in Leviathan, turn into unrequited love in Behemoth. Like Leviathan, Behemoth is a very heavy* book. And also like Leviathan, I didn't really connect with the characters. Overall, Behemoth was nicely written.

There were special endpapers like in Leviathan.
