Saint by Sierra Simone

5.0

I am thoroughly enjoying this series from Sierra Simone because it is dark and sexy but never actually takes away from faith and spirituality. And I find that so unique. The characters in these positions don't necessarily have to choose love or faith, but a balance between and that is so cool.

Saint is absolutely my favorite so far in this series and it was an entirely pleasant surprise because I blindly requested to read this not knowing that it was going to be a male/male romance. This was just a stunning read!

Aiden up and left his life of privilege and his boyfriend behind to pursue becoming a monk and creating an everlasting bond with God. While it has been a few years now and he is doing better at not missing Elijah every single moment, he is completely sidetracked when his ex comes to visit him with mind-melting news... He is newly engaged to another man.

Things further devolve into the unknown for Aiden and his faith, when Elijah accompanies him on a monastery trip through Europe on assignment with a men's magazine. It becomes very difficult to separate the vow he is taking to his cloistered life and the man he very clearly still loves. But, it isn't just that eating away at him. All of the guilt surrounding the fact that Elijah is marrying someone else and also the guilt about what Aiden's true reasons for joining the monastery really are - which he hasn't ever confessed to the man. But as their time spent together goes on and the two beging to get hot and heavy again, Aiden is left with a very difficult decision to make about his future.

And let me just tell you... this book is incredible. The just all around knowledge that Sierra Simone has put into faith and practice is so insightful. The books in this series just keep getting better and better and all you want is every bit of happiness for her characters.
