I'll Be Your Blue Sky by Marisa de los Santos

4.0

(Copied these notes from when I read this book. Not a full review)

Preferred Edith’s story to Clare’s, especially as the book goes on- Edith’s chapters feel so alive, while Clare’s chapters seem to become more and more of a Nancy Drew book with a bland love interest. I was ready to skip Clare’s chapters by the end.

Loved how all the characters tied together

Didn’t love conversations between Dev and Claire (joke, joke back; elbow, elbow back; flirt, flirt back)

Didn’t need to read the paragraphs of names and quick explanations of who each person was (I assume they were characters from other books in this series, but they added nothing). We had a lot of relevant characters in Edith and Clare’s story, so info about uncles and moms felt forced and unnecessary

Lovely story of home life in 50s, really touching

Plot easily predicted, but not in a bad way- we were just ready for the end when it came.
