While the author did really succeed in capturing the stream of consciousness of a housewife, sometimes the tedious, banal passages didn’t feel like they served a purpose to moving the book/plot forward. Some parts were really quite touching, but it was hard sometimes not just to skim what was written instead of reading and taking in every word the author has chosen to write.
