I liked this sequel better on reread than the first HIVE book. Where the first one introduced HIVE as a school and its new students as clever and headstrong main characters, this one started to set up a bigger conspiracy and ally the students with Dr. Nero and the fate of HIVE as an institution. It made me more excited for the coming books. 

I wish we had more of Wing though... He's a better character than his constant sidekick status to Otto affords him. Subtle anti-Asian representation things, honestly.
