i’ve heard rlly good things abt grady hendrix and the plot sounded super promising, but this was just not for me. i like the callbacks to the slasher genre and lynette’s characterization, and the plot has occasional fun moments, but most of it felt like a complete slog. i listed to the last quarter at 3x speed. the stakes are high, but without real love for the characters it becomes hard to care. the constant twists also fall flat. i kind of get it as an homage to the ~whodunit/red herring~ aspects of the genre, but after the first few times it just gets tedious imo. overall v apathetic abt this book, which is v disappointing
