Oh my god, I love this series! A Gathering of Shadows is an incredible sequel to A Darker Shade of Magic, delivering all the excitement, intrigue, and magic I could have hoped for. V.E. Schwab’s storytelling is absolutely masterful. The pacing, the world-building, and the thrilling magic system kept me captivated from start to finish.

The Element Games were such a highlight—Schwab made every moment of the competition pulse with energy. I also loved diving deeper into Rhy’s character, exploring his past and his current struggles, and of course, the long-awaited Lila/Kell reunion was everything I hoped for!

Kate Reading and Michael Kramer brought this world to life with their fantastic narration. Their voices perfectly captured the tone of the story and the personalities of the characters, making it an absolute joy to listen to. I’m so glad they’re narrating A Conjuring of Light because I cannot wait to see how this trilogy concludes!

If you’re a fan of intricate magic systems, high-stakes storytelling, and unforgettable characters, this series is a must-read (or must-listen). Schwab has outdone herself again!
