A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout

1.0

If I ever read one more reference to Poppy stabbing Casteel I will feel like stabbing someone myself. 53 STABBING REFERENCES!

Here are to name a few:
"I turned to the door that led outside, just like I had after stabbing Casteel." Chapter Three
"I want to stab you in the heart right now." Chapter Six
"-I debated snatching the meat knife and stabbing him..."Chapter Seven
"She'll be threatening to stab you next." Chapter Nine
"It's still within reach in case you want to stab me." Chapter Nineteen
"I don't want to stab you," I croaked out. "That would be a first," Chapter Nineteen
"Try to remember you said that later when I'm sure I'll give you a reason to stab me." Chapter Nineteen
"He hadn't--we hadn't--touched like this since the woods after I'd stabbed him," Chapter Nineteen
"And threatening to stab me," Chapter Twenty
"How is me threatening to stab you going to convince anyone that this engagement is real?" Chapter Twenty
"Most don't go around stabbing or punching the other--" Chapter Twenty
"True, which has led to the stabbing and punching..." Chapter Twenty
"There isn't a textbook of things to do or how to behave with the exception of the stabbing." Chapter Twenty
"Or kidnapped you, there should be no stabbing or punching." Chapter Twenty
"I'd stabbed him in the actual heart, and he'd been fine." Chapter Twenty-One
"Why does everyone think I'm going to stab them when I pick up anything that's not blunt?" Chapter Twenty-Three (because all JLA talks about is Poppy stabbing characters)
"And it's not my fault that some of you deserve to be stabbed." Chapter Twenty-Three
"And just so you know, the only reason I didn't end your life the second I learned that you stabbed him in the heart is because he cares for you." Chapter Twenty-Three
"I still want to stab you." Chapter Twenty-Seven
"Prone to stabbing him when she was angry?" Chapter Twenty-Seven
"A relationship with no stabbing or punching." Chapter Twenty-Seven
"Soon, she'll be running one of us over instead of stabbing us." Chapter Twenty-Eight
"I guess I should be grateful that she didn't stab you." Chapter Twenty-Eight
"Because she insinuated that I could be stabbed later?" Chapter Twenty-Eight
"Oh gods, I really needed to stop talking about stabbing people." Chapter Twenty-Eight (YOU THINK?)
"Or being stabbed," Casteel mumured under his breath. Chapter Thirty
"She stabbed me in the heart with a bloodstone dagger," Chapter Thirty-Two
"You stabbed Casteel?" Chapter Thirty-Two
"I was going to stab him again." Chapter Thirty-Two
"Please, no stabbing." Chapter Thirty-Two
"If you're suggesting what I think you are, I am going to stab you in the heart again." Chapter Thirty-Two
"Are you going to stab me in the heart? Again?" Chapter Thirty-Two
"Someone is likely to be very irritated if you stab me," Chapter Thirty-Three
"There's something innately wrong with the idea of being stabbed..." Chapter Thirty-Three
"I'm not going to stab you." Chapter Thirty-Three (Really? Are you SURE?)
"Someone is getting stabbed again." Chapter Thirty-Five
"Definitely getting stabbed." Chapter Thirty-Five
"Apparently, she already stabbed him once," Chapter Thirty-Five
"Like how do I want to stab you and kiss you at the same time?" Chapter Thirty-Six (Maybe because you're fixated on stabbing things?)
"...or someone I don't want to stab--" Chapter Thirty-Six
"Planning to stab him during the ceremony?" Chapter Thirty-Six
"Why does everyone act like I'm seconds away from stabbing Casteel?" Chapter Thirty-Six (BECAUSE IT IS CONSTANTLY BROUGHT UP AND YOU CONSTANTLY THINK IT)
"I only stabbed him...a few times." Chapter Thirty-Six (not enough)
"I'm pretty sure she's threatened to stab or punch me since then, too." Chapter Forty-Three

The next book should be named "The Stabbing Queen".

Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my favorite authors but I cannot understand how people are enjoying this specific series.
