The ISIS Apocalypse: The History, Strategy, and Doomsday Vision of the Islamic State by William McCants

4.0

A very well written and researched book on the origins of ISIS. A must read for anyone working in government whose work relates to the Middle East or foreign policy. Refreshing to read a book like this that is clearly written in an informative, rather than political way. The author has a deep knowledge of the Muslim faith and so provides the reader a unique insight into the topic. Whilst it was not a page turner or gripping read, it has been written simply, and it is easily accessible for the reader. Definitely a book I would recommend if you are interested in learning more about the topic.
