I have mixed feelings about this one. To take a historical event like the massacre of Ouradour and make it part of your story is ok but to change the historical facts to fit your narrative goes to far imo.
Also, one of the main plot points falls completely flat (spoilers ahead). When a proven war hero finds the person responsible for the massacre of Ouradour, nobody in France in 1947 would have stopped her of shooting him. They would have cheered her on. 1947 was fresh of the war and revenge on collaborators was not rare.
But a nice read even so.
