Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return by Marjane Satrapi

5.0

Read this gem as a part of our local university's museum (exhibit on Iranian women post-regime photography) partnering with our local library for a book discussion. It had been years since I saw the film and read the predecessor novel, and this one carries the same spirited honesty, humor, boldness, and love. We see young Marjane entering womanhood while living abroad, as her home country has become too dangerous, until at last she returns, fully grown, to Iran. A new favorite novel.
