Even before reading Gatsby, I knew I'd love it. Wealth, glamourous parties and some destructive obsession is absolutely my cup of tea.
But I always put off reading it - I assumed some day, someone would just place it on my lap and the whole book would be absorbed into my head without opening a single page (some Gatsby-level delusional fantasy).
Having now *actually* read it, its not only the plot and characters which make the story so fantastic, but also Fitzgeralds incredibly beautiful writing.
I give it my official crown of favourite classic !!
