I am blown away by this absolute gem of a book. This was the most precious and lovely book I have ever read in my entire life and I have read a lot. Jenny Slate’s writing was so unique and quirky and real.
I would describe this as a book of essays. There are some essays/chapters in this book that I smiled the whole way through. Her writing is delicate and crafty and brilliant. I am definitely going to return to this book whenever I’m feeling sad or upset because I felt so much joy reading her words. In addition to the joyful essays there is also a mixture of melancholy and sorrow that arises as it does in life which I felt was perfectly written and it made me feel seen. I related to a lot of her writing.
Everyone should read this book! It is a feel-good masterpiece that really reminds you why you’re alive.
