The Rowland Sinclair books are a true delight. Well written, with likeable characters and a wonderful insight into a time in Australian history that I am fairly unfamiliar with. This novel takes us from the Blue Mountains to the high country, and back to the familiar haunts of Sydney. Rowley and friends set off on a mission to track down a missing family employee, dodging any number of shady characters, who seem intent on kidnapping Rowley. Along the way we meet a range of interesting people, and fill in some of the backstory of the main characters. I love the little cameos by well known Australians from the worlds of politics, arts and literature. A thoroughly enjoyable book.
