My Time Will Come: A Memoir of Crime, Punishment, Hope, and Redemption by Ian Manuel

emotional hopeful inspiring reflective tense medium-paced

4.0

Such an interesting listen/read.  A story of a 14 yr old sentenced to life for a non homicidal crime.  In solitary confinement for 20+ years.  If the person knows no better based on their surroundings, do they really deserve life vs. rehabilitation.  What does solitary confinement for so long do to a person? Is this punishment/torture or recreational?

The author makes amends with his victim.  He takes accountability for his misjudgments and errors.  It is sickening the corrupted actions people of the “law” conjure up.  I do wonder since he admits to his lies and fabrication of events in the past, is he fabricating in this book any? Regardless, still an eye opening story.

The authors poetry is beautiful.
